Final Texas Stadium Game

12/20/08: I am a life-long Cowboys fan and one of my dreams is to be a season-ticket holder. With Jerry World opening next season, its going to take some devine intervention to make that dream happen. BUT this year we were blessed to have received some free tickets from the Clanton's. These tickets were in Section 3, Row 37 to the last game ever at Texas Stadium. Very nice seats! AND they were within my budget....

As we walked in, the tailgaters were in high spirits or they were extra happy from taking in some extra liquid heat to battle the dropping temperatures. After watching the boys kill the hated Giants the week before, everybody was fairly confident that this would be a triumphant conclusion to Texas Stadium's long run.







The 'boys came out to warm-up. I was a little concerned in that the warm-ups didn't look as organized as I had remembered over the years. Then again, coaching overpaid individuals isn't my job...thank GOD!! Notice in the pictures of Romo that the Ravens' coaches were intently watching...wonder what they were looking at??





During the pre-game, we saw some interesting people:

Then the World Famous Cheerleaders came out to perform. Enough said...



After the Cheerleaders, it was down-hill the rest of the way...I did enjoy predicting Garrett's plays with the gentleman next to me. Then again, it looked like the Ravens were on top of the calls too. Oh Well



BUT wait...Jerry had something special planned! Out popped Hank Williams Jr.!


Hmm, things started to look up. Then just like this season, the post-game ceremony was all hype and no delivery. What else should we have expected? At least we were able to visit the house that Tom build one last time and what might be the last Cowboys game for me to see in person.

In the end, we were left thinking about the past and how long it had been since we had true leaders making decisions:

My personal favorite game at Texas Stadium was the '94 Thanksgiving game where Garrett led a comeback against the Packers. Mainly because I was there and on the 2nd row of the end-zone at Texas Stadium. Farwell Texas Stadium!
